Isle of Wight Railway
May 11, 2008FdA Interactive Media Course Leader Phil Beards was approached by the Isle of Wight Steam Railway with a view to students updating the audio visual displays at the museum. After an initial visit to the museum it was decided that two students Dean Lewington and Matthew Jaquest would develop a digital version of the old tape slide presentation that the museum had been used for close to 20 years. This involved a great deal of retouch and restoration work on the original slides. After the completion of this project the students were asked to plan, shoot and edit a new 15 minute promotional DVD to be used in the museum. The project took several months to complete but visitors to the museum can now enjoy a high quality video display of the history of the Islands railway.
